They honestly should just get rid of the game altogether. This does NOT make me want to watch it even more. Not sure what's running through Roger's mind right now.

PFT

Albert Breer of NFL Network reported that the league is considering elements that would make the game more like a game show, such as having incentives paid out during the game. Breer said the league would like to “make it so every single minute of the game has some sort of thing that’s going to keep fans interested and engaged.”

Breer added that the NFL doesn’t “feel the need to keep the integrity of what a normal football game is.”

If the NFL really wants to make the players play hard, the best “game show” element to incorporate would be large cash prizes for the winners. Currently, players on the winning Pro Bowl team make $50,000 and players on the losing team make $25,000. The difference between getting paid $25,000 and $50,000 is a lot to most of us, but it’s peanuts to most Pro Bowlers. Until that changes, don’t expect the players’ effort to change.

I just don't see how you could make this game watchable. The only way is for the players to actually go all out, and they aren't going to risk their future's on a game even more meaningless than preseason.

Might as well add a "Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal" gimmick to it or go full-on Blitz The League and generate cash for yardage, touchdowns, etc.

Why don't they have skills challenges? I'd much rather see that.

I would watch NFL players compete in a WIPEOUT or Ninja Warrior-style competition.

The pro bowl game is useless, except to degenerate gamblers.

That's the only way I'd watch it. Have QB passing drills, bring back the fastest man competition, or hell let them play flag football.

People bet on the Pro Bowl?!? Wow. Seems to me you place a bet on the Pro Bowl, a flashing red light should go off at the local Gamblers Anonymous meeting space.

Didn't they used to have a qb skills challenge?

I think I can remember Marino, Favre, and Elway duking it out to see who had the longest arm.

If I remember correctly, Moon would win it easily every year.

Get rid of NfC vs AFC affiliations and instead have a long list of pro bowlers who are then drafted by two coaches.

I think Jeff Blake won it one year

There are threads on here every year about it.

But there are many degenerate gamblers (and wannabes who for some reason think gambling is "cool") on this board
