Could the OP sue his wife saying marriage assets and liabilities at divorce weren't calculated correctly as the tax liability wasn't included in the divorce settlement? And get some assets from her to pay it down. Or could the tax judgment from both TGSOL and the IRS be split evenly and billed to both as they were married from when the taxes weren't paid? Unless the OP assumed all unkown liabilities with the business in the divorce, I could see an argument for this. I'm not an expert, just a thought.
If I could go back in time, she would be implicated. But for the sake of my kids at this point Im not going to do that.

I didn't read the whole thread, but have u not gone to see an attorney yet? Preferably one that deals with taxes and bankruptcy.

But for the sake of my kids
It affects them no matter what. If you pay the full liability, it is less they'd inherit. If the wife doesn't pay her part, she could will the money/assets to others, get remarried and split it with the new hubby, or will it to any new children. If she throws in for 50%, you pay less and can ensure the children get it through your will, gifts, paying for their education, etc. Once they hit 18, she doesn't have to pay for anything for them and can piss it away on herself.
If she's reasonable, maybe you can talk to her, make her understand she should be on the hook for 50% of it, and would be willing to throw in. The more $$$ you pay to lawyers and advisors and in interest and penalties, the less you can help the children or will to them. Maybe take the angle you're need her help for the betterment of the kids?

If you are worried about not having a valid DL for identification purposes or having it show up revoked on a background check then you have a problem.
If you are worried about it from a 'getting behind the wheel and driving' point of view, just get in your car and drive. You can drive without a license and I wouldn't hesitate to do so if it meant the difference between making a living and not.
*full disclaimer - this advice given buy a guy who has a brake tag that expired in 2009 - "f*ck it" is my advice.
