Last year LSU Bama and aTm had a split divisional record. Alabama was higher ranked having only lost to aTm thus they would have gotten in regardless.
I think a tiered system would be interesting, but you would probably have to not play a team or two from your own division to really make it work.

LSU and UF are not alone this year though. UGA has now joined the party as they have to play 3 possibly top 15 teams in the first four games. But I agree that SC getting either Bama or A&M could have at least leveled the field a little bit more. I think Texas A&M should make Texas their mainstay OOC ival like UF does FSU.
People from other conferences usually like to point at SEC OOC games but LSU always gets at least 2 competent FBS teams to play against. Hsll to even out when they schedule shite like this I wouldn't mind 3 FCS games (only when they give us a ridiculous conference schedule).

Only counting division record solves all problems, except for Bama, since their losses are almost always divisional.

Only true way to solve the problem is to only count your divisional wins. Win your division and you go to Atlanta. It really is that simple.

Then do what Spurrier suggested, only divisional games count for a berth in the SECCG
When Spurrier first said this I disagreed. But I kind of see his point now. The scheduling is atrocious. Just look at who gets the advantage with byes and timing of big games.
Bama has an early game against ATM and a late game against LSU; both with bye weeks before them.
ATM plays Bama early but without a bye week. And they fortunately get a bye week before playing LSU and Ole Miss.
LSU plays ATM and Bama late with bye weeks before each game.
Toughest SEC games
ATM: Bama, LSU, Ole Miss
Bama: ATM, LSU, Ole Miss
LSU: Bama, ATM, Ole Miss, UGA, UF

How do I link a pdf? I have the helmet schedule on my desktop.

It's hard to argue that Bama somehow benefitted from an easier schedule and doesn't deserve the SEC title when Bama actually beats LSU on the field. Thus, in order for the scheduling argument to have any legitimacy, LSU at least needs to beat the Tide this season.

Some people say just beat the teams on you schedule and you dont have anything to cry about. I wouldn't mind LSU playing UF, USC, and UGA if the other teams that are contending for the SEC champion play them too. But if the SEC champion is suppose to be the best team in the league than they should have had to face the same rigorous schedule as their biggest in conference challenger. Apples to apples. Oranges to oranges.
Bama fans don't care about being the best team...they care about getting the trophy, the title, and the revenue that comes with those things.
Their fans have no dignity or respect for the game.

Possibly twice...yes, this is now reality, and it's disgraceful to the sport and to the spirit of competition, in general.

They do benefit. The last time Bama had to play two tough opponents in the same year, they ended the season with a 9-3 record. One of those losses came to USC. Plus the wear on your starters when LSU has to go toe-2-toe with UF and USC the whole game, it will have effects. Alleva and Miles know this. That's why they are pushing for a more balanced schedule.

Really if they got rid of the permanent and let it freely rotate I would be ok with it. This would also allow for more match ups with the other division. The permanent can create an advantage and also the bs bridge scheduling did also.
Also LSU played Florida, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Alabama, and Miss St. over roughly a month period. That is crazy considering those teams finished 54-12 combined.

LSU won 10 and 11 and Bama won 11 and 12. Bama needed a backdoor just to get into the 11 win. If Miles didn't open his bag of tricks last year, we would have been 3 consecutive season wins.

SEC SCHEDULE ARGUMENT SOLVED!
Don't count the permanent opponent games for divisional titles.
And when you go to a nine game schedule, you will still have 8 games to determine divisional titles.

We've already brought up counting only divisional games. You want us to go to a 9 game schedule so OSU doesn't have competition in the CFP.
After OSU and Michigan, the Big Ten is the Big Ton as in "big ton of shite". We(SEC) have 6 teams that could match up with any top 2 teams in any conference.

Its not sos, its just rotating the teams. shite id rather go to athens every other year than gainesville.
Thats my gripe, i want to travel to other cities more than once a decade.
