I want to float from the state line. Someone needs to go do it and chronicle it here.

I've floated from above the state line down to Hwy 432 many times. Damn near every Saturday during the summer in high school. The big issue doing it is having a place to put in and take out. I'm lucky enough to have access to all those places though. You could put in at the 2 bridges above the state line without a problem(one on the west fork and another on east fork), but taking out at 432 is impossible without getting on private land. Plus, from the east fork bridge in Mississippi to hwy 432 is a 14 hr float in a bateau. Not sure what that equates to in a yak, but you'll be pulling over trees for the first 3/4 of that float so eat your Wheaties if you are gonna attempt it. If you could make it to Hwy 10 there is a place the public puts in and takes out, even though it's technically on private land.

I'm supposed to make a trip from the forks down to Grangeville in a couple weeks. I'll try to take pictures and post a report here.

We have property where the comite hits Pride-port hudson, you would have to time that trip pretty well. that water gets real shallow, but its a lot of fun when the waters moving.

I've got access to property up the Comite from there. River is shallow but I think a yak could do it. I would like to have a paddleboard for small creeks like that.

If it rains midweek you would be golden for a weekend trip. Otherwise you might have to get out in a few spots, but its a hard sand and rock bottom so its not too bad. Also makes for good beer chugging opportunities.

Where did you put in on the west fork above the state line, or in the river below the forks?

I've never done it in a canoe, but evidently y'all were booking it pretty good to make it that quick.

Never paid attention to the color of the establishments, but if you were on that road and put in on the river you were on property owned by family. Not close family, but close family of my Momma. I don't float down anymore. I run up there in my jet-boat and float back down. I can be at the forks in less than an hour from my camp.
