In honor of the Anchorman 2 teaser I give you....

Best of Brick!

Nothing like a little
Afternoon Delight!

How did I hate this movie when it came out???

Just like Step Brothers, I seem to like Anchorman even more as time passes.

The first time I watched Anchorman was very meh.

I don't think I appreciated the over the top silliness of the movie. It just got funnier every time I watched it. Finding even subtle humor in some of the most seemingly benign exchanges.

I am not getting my hopes up for the sequel. If they don't dial back Farrell some it could be a flop.

At times trying to replicate something can be disastrous and this what happens with most sequels so I am going to take a wait and see on this one.

I had the same experience when I went to see Austin Powers and Anchorman in the theater when during each opening weekend. The theater was almost empty, and I was the only person laughing. Each time my friends told me I was crazy for enjoying the movie.

What you talking bout Willis. Ron Burgundy is always over the top with his persona. No need to dial it back. He needs to dial it up to 11.

I actually think the movie worked because Will Ferrell was so dialed back. Ron Burgundy is much different than WFs typical SNL overreacting yelling and screaming guy. I don't think he needs to kick it up any, he needs to keep the level the same. He was kind of the straight man like Leslie Nielsen in the Naked Gun movies.

It's amazing how he is basically the same character in every movie and yet sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt.

It's who he surrounds himself with. JCR and Adam Scott in Step Brothers. Paul Rudd and Steve Carell in Anchorman. JCR and Sasha Cohen in Talladega Nights (as well some of the peripherals). Marky Mark in The Other Guys.

I find him to be a lot like Will Ferrell. Very assclownish and over the top. I don't hate that or anything, but it's just a good thing that Will has other people to offset his style.

Koechner was great as Champ Kind and Todd Packer on The Office.

ETA: And how could I forget Old School? Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Jeremy Piven were really good cast members.
