ETA - So, they had no issue when she gave them her ID prior to entering the range?
That said, the dumbest shite I ever saw anyone do in there was about a 45 year old gun nut. fricker stove-piped, so he stepped back from the shooting rest and starts fricking with the thing. He finally gets the shell out, another round chambers and he drops the goddamned thing locked and loaded. The barrel was literally pointing at my foot from about 2 feet away when it hit the ground. I wanted to beat the old man's arse right there.

those idiots wouldn't let me test fire a new AR I had built a while back because they said I had armor piercing ammo. was nothing more than your run of the mill federal brass...

What are some other good ranges in the area?
I've always had good experiences at the Baker range. The guys at Precision can go frick themselves with hot gun barrels...which I'm pretty sure they do.

Has the ventilation improved over there? I havent been in 10+ years but that was always a turn off for me.

Uh ................ how did you decide their PMAGS are $80 ??
I was in there yesterday and they had a display case with dozens of PMAGS for $15.95 - $16.95 (depending on whether or not you wanted windows).
Were you drinking at the time -- enough to confuse $18 (tax included) with $80 ?? (If so, that might explain why they wouldn't sell you any ammo.)

I know for a fact they were at least $50 as of a few weeks to a month ago. They had their case full of em the past few months and I was gonna buy some. They probably lowered them since no one would buy them
Sorry I exaggerated a little bit.

My experiences at precision have been the same. Especially if you ask a question and they proceed to berate you as loud as they can for asking. Sorry, I am not a mall ninja like your other part time job. As much as I try to support the local merchants, if you treat me like a dick then I will take my business elsewhere, which I do. Frick 'em.

I hate precision for a myriad of reasons. They pulled that bull shite on me and my brothers. I was 20 and they were 26 and 28 and they wouldn't let them buy ammo

you work for precision, breh?
almost all local gun shops sucks except for Dave's in Lafayette. Never been to Precision and I never will after hearing about this

Precision has lost my business. Was actually going to go in there tomorrow, looks like I'm heading elsewhere now.

It's not the greatest and definitely gets pretty stuffy with a room full of shooters.

A. I don't really do much work anywhere, except under duress.
B. I have memberships at several ranges, including Precision. Since it's one of the busiest gun ranges in the state, they apparently see quite a few mental adolescents (of all ages) walk though their door. Some of their rules have been imposed to deal with the lowest common denominator.
C. I've never had a problem at Precision. However, I've only been shooting there for about 20 years. So I'm sure eventually I'll ask a question and they' suddenly decide to berate me loudly.

18 USC § 922(b). A firearms licensee faces up to 5 years imprisonment.
A. May not sell, deliver or transfer a handgun or handgun-only ammunition to a person who is
under age 18;
B. A person under age 18 may not possess a handgun or handgun-only ammunition;
(Certain exceptions apply to A & B, such as where juvenile possesses written permission of a
parent.);
C. A firearms licensee may not sell any gun or ammunition to anyone under the age of 18 and
may not sell a handgun or handgun ammunition to a person under the age of 21.
LINK
If I'm reading this correctly, it says a firearms licensee cannot sell ammo to anyone under 21. Everyone else can sell to anyone that is at least 18.

It says handgun ammo under 21 rifle ammo is okay if 18+.

Shame on them for not wanting to break the law. Look what they did-pissed off a customer just because they weren't willing to risk their business to illegally sell him ammo. After all, it's not like we have a Federal government that's not kind and forgiving.

I shoot there often.
It's store policy that if anyone in your party is under 21, they won't sell you handgun ammunition. Next time, just buy ammo before you go in.
They changed that policy almost 2 years ago.
Green tip usually has a steel penetrator in it. That steel penetrator will tear up the walls and steel armor at the back of the range. Look at the walls, floor, and ceiling next time you're in that range. People shoot EVERYTHING there. If they see anything with a green tip, it can't be shot there. If it was your range, would you take that chance? There are other businesses on the other side of that wall. Just buy an $10 box of .223 and you're good to go.
