Anyone got the recipe for Parish Farmhouse IPA? I'm looking for an ingredients list.

I'm examining different farmhouse ales, and trying to pick out what i like about each, to formulate my own.

I'd appreciate it. I don't want him to give away in secrets or anything. Just interested on grain percentages, and just the types of hops used. I don't need quantities of hops, or anything that he may not wish to give out.

Some breweries will give you everything you could possibly want. It's really not all that uncommon.

Yup. Usually a simple email like, "Hey, I really like your beer. The such and such hop characteristic is really unique and something I've been striving for in my beers. I'm a homebrewer and was wondering if I could get the recipe?"

The smaller the brewery, the more chance you hear back. It's especially nice when they list the grain bills and hops on their websites.

Are serious? Is this what he uses? Just asking because it seems like lately I've seen a lot of recipes with these in it.

Yes. Definitely a non-traditional hop for IPAs. I've never used it before.

I think I might have a half pound or so of old Crystal hops if anyone wants them. I had a whole bunch from several years ago during the hop shortage and could only get my hand on a few varieties. They would probably make for some good aged hops for a lambic as there AA contnet is probbaly close to nothing by now. I'll double check when I get home, but if anyone wants them, speak up. Free.

My next beer is going to be a hoppy Saison with Pils, and some Belgian Crystal along with a heavy hand of Rye. Then like BMoney said, some American hops.

This is also an element of Parish Farmhouse IPA.

I'd look into Munich or Vienna in place crystal. Crystal malts are not typically found in saisons. Leaves them a little too sweet.

I got 3 of my brew books in yesterday. Yeast, Radical Brewing, and Farmhouse ales.

I read that exact thing in Radical Brewing. It says you want to have no more than 80% pilsener/2 row/??? malt, no more than 20% munich or vienna, and no more than 5% Wheat, for head.

Sorry I was trying to be clever, apparently too clever or not clever enough. That's the makeup of the beer in question. So since I'll try my hand at it I thought I would be clever and not just say here is the grain bill from Andrew

Hit me up at bottomlandbrew at gmail dot com if you want them. I have about 11.6 ounces. They are labeled 3.1% AA, so I'd guess they are less than 1% AA by now. Not good for much other than spontaneous sour beers.
