What type of batteries do they use, or which kind do you prefer.

Primos aren't too bad I got three on clearance last year and they have been worth it. They went all season on one set of batteries.
8AA per and the pics were good day and night. I was a little worried because all the reviews said they suck. I either got the only three good ones made or only idiots who don't read the setup directions post reviews.

I have two different moultrie cameras. One that has a flash and takes D batteries. Ive tried every brand from Radio Shack to Energizer and Duracell. The camera eats batteries quick so I dont recommend one of these cameras unless you own a battery distribution center.
IR camera I have takes the AA. Its awesome and will go a few months on one set.

We have used wildgame innovations the last 3 years and have not had any issues with them. Take great night/day photos as well as videos.

Bushnell trophy cam
Moultire mx80
Primos truth cam
In no specific order. I've had good luck with the Moultire and primos and have heard great things about the Bushnell.
I won't buy anything with wildgames name on it. If that was the only company that made outdoor products I'd quit hunting.

They were a Christmas gift a few years back, so I probably wouldn't have bought that brand if it was up to be. But I think the pictures and videos they take are pretty good quality and they have lasted.

My Wildgames take good pictures, but only last one season. Bought 12 two season ago, have about 4 left that work. Went to Cuddeback and haven't looked back

Moultrie's Game Spy Game Management System
hands down. it can send pics to your email or to your cell phone. eliminates you disturbing your hunting area with your odor. look into it. i have it and love it.

Why so many?

Does it send every picture it takes? We get hundreds and hundreds of pictures every time we put out the cameras, I think that would overload my phone or inbox.

I got 3 years out of my wildgame innovations, it took great pictures and C battery life span was 3-4 months but I took it down and left it off for 6 months and now it seems to have crapped out. Anybody got any reviews of the "blackflash technology" the deer in my photos clearly reacted to the flash?
I've got a lot of activity on my place and itching to see them, damn deer flies are so thick I want no part of sitting out there

I have had a few Primos Truthcam 35 for a couple of seasons and they have worked great.
To the blackflash question...I got a Bushnell Blackout last year, it works great as far as pictures, no visible lights, etc. My only complaint is that it takes AA batteries and they dont seem to last. I do not know if the "blackout" has any real advantage over the IR "red flash" where I hunt. I think a few deer and hogs might have noticed the red IR flash a few times, but not enough to scare away.

For the price, it's hard to beat primos IMO.
