I have Netflix, and I'm powering through their library and have a good bit saved up on my instant queue. However there are some shows I want to watch: Justified, The Shield, The Americans, Arrow etc. Yet I'm confused on what Hulu + provides and what Amazon Instant is as well. I intially thought Hulu+ provided all the seasons of shows currently on air, yet it only keeps the past 5 episodes for currently airing TV and for FX shows none at the moment?

From what I've gathered on Amazon Instant is I'm paying just to have access to shows and movies? Seems like I already have that with iTunes (sans paying to have access). Or am I wrong?

Hulu library depends on individual contracts with TV shows. Some have full seasons (community)

It's gonna be difficult to find non network tv shows on Hulu

From what I understand, NO ONE should be paying just for Amazon Instant. You should just go ahead and sign up for Prime, or am I missing something?

I think this is where I'm confused. You're telling me there are 2 tiers to amazon instant/prime?

amazon prime is free two day shipping plus access to whatever free tv shows/movies they are offering with it. basically their version of netflix streaming.

instant video is just paying to stream or download like on itunes for individual movies and tv shows.

That clears it up. Thanks for the help.
Amazon Prime will be perfect for me bc I usually order things every 3 weeks from amazon and have always opted for the free shipping even though it takes a bit longer.

BTW 1999: Loved Dredd.

yes if you do a lot of shopping of amazon it is a steal of a deal.

been watching a good bit of the shield since they added it a few moths ago.

be aware there is a lot of crossover between what prime has and what netflix have. prime has a lot that netflix doesn't have but they also lack some things. maybe do a month trial before signing up for a year? prime is about to start doing a lot of orignal series also.

hopefully more people will get a chance to see dredd. fun action movie that did not get the attention it deserved.

Agreed. When it first came out I saw it and my brother and I loved it. Then after the show we heard it was under performing at the box office and if it didn't hit a certain mark there wouldn't be a sequel. So we went and saw it in 3D the same day. Idk if it has passed the threshold it needed to warrant a sequel, even with DVDs/blurry sales, but I would be bummed if it doesn't get one eventually.
