I can see round pupils in the first pic, that's a good sign.

Texas rat (chicken) snake. Throw that sob in your attic and you won't have to worry about mice ever again.

Downshift was looking for one. He will take it.

i searched Texas Rat snake images and boom, you are rith Tenfoe! Thank you sir!

While I applaud member Tenfoe's accuracy with reptile identification, I must take exception to his plan of relocation of said reptile to your attic.
Especially if Mrs. Buddy ever plans on storing or retrieving any items from the attic.

no attic snakes for me, at least not on purpose.
so for now, i will gladly give him away or release said reptile somewhere else to his or her own devices.

If he doesn't take it someone else should. They are great for releasing at a camp or barn (unless you have chickens). Last time I brought one home the wife said no more. I'll let someone else have this one.

I've got those suckers. You find them in the most unlikely spots. Like on the wreath while opening your front door and over your head as you walk into the barn.
Can't even walk in a barn anymore without slowly peeping at the sill above the door now.

I'd have to replace my front door after the shotgun blast.
