I'm actually a big proponent of Jenkins. I want him to do well. I just don't like he came from Georgia.

I'm rooting for the guy to be the next Casey Hampton... But after all of our experiences with UGA defensive lineman, I think it's ok to be a little apprehensive.

It's just hard for me to have high expectations for a guy that big. I just think it's extremely easy for them to be out of shape unless they are a freak of nature like Wilfork. Hope I'm wrong

to this point, it's encouraging that he signed so quickly. I'd hate to think what he would devolve into if he sat out awhile

I'm 180* opposite.
Its the fact that as a 3-4 nose tackle he has that very big size which gives me high expectations.
DLP will have his hands full in camp like never before(mark my words).

From what I've read, he's apparently very entergetic and has a decent work ethic. He only played 2 years at UGA. I'm sure his JUCO didn't have the best trainer/facilities.

I know some of this stuff is him trying to be drafted, so take it FWIW:

Jenkins called himself more of a "340 and below guy," and seemed confident that he would be able to keep the weight down at the next level. The big jump up to 370 apparently had more to do with his studiousness in college rather than lack of work ethic.
"I had an obligation as far as me trying to get extra studying in and things like that," Jenkins said. "Instead of me doing extra running, I was doing extra tutoring."
quote:

I didn't have the right knowledge of how I should have my weight and wasn't educated enough to keep my weight down.

Here's a story where he dropped about 40 lbs for the combine. At least that shows he can work hard enough to do that. LINK

he will lose a step and some power as the games go on, though he appears to be giving good effort when he looks tired.

The upside is up to him, and the improvement in critical areas from the 2012 season to the Senior Bowl tells me that he understands what he needs to do.
