Attendance figures for those interested. I sorted by % of capacity as that's probably the most fair since stadiums vary greatly.
25 Miami: 50.4%
26 Chicago White Sox: 49.5%
27 Kansas City: 48.8%
28 Houston: 47.1%
29 Seattle: 39.2%
30 Cleveland: 32.7%

Wow, what the hell happened to Cleveland? I remember back when they used to set sellout records at Jacobs & now this (with the team 3 games above .500 at that)?

Why should people reward that POS owner by going to games when he fricked the city to get a stadium and then puts out a shite product on the field. Too bad loria is boys with the commissioner. MLB should force the sale of the team.

This times a million.

Playing in the last multi-purpose cookie-cutter stadium and needing to cover the football seats is one thing. Playing in a baseball-specific stadium and still needing to cover seats goes into Baylor territory.

Damn it seems like Florida is mainly a college sports state. The Jags, now the Marlins putting up Tarp.

Most residents in the Tampa area are transplants from other cities. A lot already have home teams (i.e. New York, Chicago, etc). It takes years and years for teams to grow into a market like FL.

Clevelanders can't handle the idea of not sucking. They hate to not suck.

As a Tampa Bay resident, I will reiterate that no one is from here. Everyone already has other allegiances.

I think Portland deserves a MLB team. Possibly SLC or even El Paso.

My dream is that the Miami team be moved to Havana.

eta: I honestly think if Castro was given a MLB team on the condition of democracy and foreign land sales, they'd build a state of the art stadium and do it and open up Cuba and bring an end to the embargo.

He doesn't have much longer to live, he's already handed the reigns over to his brother. No better way to leave the greatest legacy to give his people freedom again and bring a MLB to the island helping spur tourism and relations with Americans.

Don't know if this was discussed, but there was a story on Deadspin the other day about how there was all this empty retail space in the stadium parking garage. No businesses wanted to go in there because the Marlins suck so hard. Tilted Kilt was about to sign a lease, then Loria dumped the whole team and they said "No thanks". When you can't get a Hooters rip-off to locate by a baseball stadium, that is SAD.

Bud Selig allowed this to happen, everybody give Bud a nice hand of applause.

I think that management turning them into a glorified AAA feeder for teams like the Yankees jaded them pretty hard.

Trading consecutive Cy Young winners like Sabathia and Lee then watching the two of them play on opposing teams in the 2009 World Series must have hurt like a bitch.

But shitty owner aside, they've never deserved that team. And they've won rings in their short lifespan and still can't consistently get support.
Cause they consistently suck, fail to reinvest any money in their team, and trade away all their decent players. Way to gloss over that shitty owner part. Marlins are the official farm system of the Detroit Tigers. They're going to trade Stanton away to them or Texas when the season is over.

Went to the Mets game last nite, I doubt there were more than a 150 fans in the upper deck. Look like an Astros game.

NY Mets average home attendance:

2009: 39,841

2010: 32,401

2011: 30,108

2012: 28,035

2013: 25,883

35% drop

21,470 (51.2% full)per the box score, I'm don't know if how many people were there, but atleast 2/3 of the seats were empty

they should probably start thinking about closing the whole stadium for weekday games. it's not like they'll piss off their fan.
