He's a poor 3 point shooter and atrocious FT shooter at this point. He is only 19.

here's my take on that. euros shoot a shite-ton more outside shots than the nba right. its their thing. they are less athletic but better overall shooters than murricans. so that would make lower %'s more acceptable over there. nba teams get them and regulate their shots which makes them way more efficient shooters in the nba. the proof is in the pudding!

That's absolute crap. He was 10-33 and 7-24. Averaging just over 2 per game.

If we had a mid first: why not?

But hell no on a top 5-6 pick

I don't like that he's not a good scorer. And I would say that #5 is way too high for a draft and stash. But this is a weak class, so maybe a normal #15 becomes a #5 this year.

Here's some links on him.

Just looked at some film on YouTube. Not that great.

"Sources" Pelicans like Saric(SF) Everything I'm reading on Saric says that he's likely a "draft and stash" player rather than an immediate contributor. If we're taking him that high, I think it says a lot about what Monty and Dell think about this year's class of players.

All of this.

If there ever was a year to take a guy with potential that isn't immediately ready to contribute day 1 it would be this year. Lets just say we get to pick anyone in the draft. Burke, Porter, Mcelmore, etc. how much better of a team would we actually be? How many more wins would we get? I don't think we would be that much better. I'd be down to take a euro guy who is tall and has 1 of the sweetest touches in the game this year and stash him. Especially considering the talent that is coming in the NBA in next years draft.

This ownership and management is determined to put a competitive team on the floor this coming season. Not a contender, realistically, but competitive. So, you have to take that into consideration.

Because the 35th pick in a clearly down draft is immensely valuable...

I get that, but who in this draft would make us a competitive team for next year?? I don't see any of these players changing a franchise that much. But next years draft, there are a couple of franchise changing players in Wiggins, Parker, and Randle. Hell, Smart could have a big time season next year at Okie St and improve and be a good player.

If we want to be competitive next year, we have to sign a big time FA and then draft a solid guy. And I would be down with that. I'm just saying if we don't sign a good FA, one of the guys in this draft won't be a franchise changer.

It's considered weak at the top since there's not star power in the draft... but It's not a bad draft for teams outside of the lottery. Plenty of role players to go around.

It's one the best years for role players and international players. Pek was a 2nd rounder! Henry's got no shot of being a role player.

Not buying it. If the top is weak, the bottom is weaker, or they would be at the top.

What is the basis of this statement? I haven't seen anyone rave about the depth of this draft.

From watching the ncaa tournament and hearing it said multiple times by announcers. Internationial talents like shroder, sfs from greece and russia, and a couple of french centers come to mind as well as tim hardaway jr. One of those guys will be available at 35 most likely and I think they all have much higher upside than henry.

Jonathan Givony of DX

"I think it's a fairly normal draft in terms of depth. It's relatively standard compared to what I've seen in years past. At the top, you're just not seeing that franchise-changing prospect. There's no LeBron James, there's no Derrick Rose."

That Dudley scenario isn't great. But finding another late 1st, early 2nd would be nice.

Depends on how you define competitive. Logical, but perhaps not spectacular, signings/trades, drafting any of Burke/Porter/Shabazz mixed with healthy Gordon and natural progression from Davis and youve got a playoff contender.

Saric could also drop to 35. I'd salivate at the idea of having a developing dennis schroeder on the roster.. I'd start him at 19 over vasquez. There's no assurance with a 35th pick but I just disdain this bust henry and would have been much happier taking a shot at an international.

Never gonna happen. Been hurt forever. Max deal player that can't even play back to back nights

Porter is still my fav pick for us. His ceiling might not be as high as others, but his floor isn't as low as some either. You know what you're getting with him more than a Burke or Shabazz. And with a Burke, Porter, or Shabazz and Gordon with AD, still don't think we're a playoff team. Especially considering what the west has in terms of overall depth of teams. If we sign a good FA, then it's possible. Without one, don't see it regardless of who we draft.

Davis was great last year. Will Monty give him 35 mins a night is the question.
