#LSU OC Cam Cameron handed out an in-state offer today to QB Brandon Harris. Get the latest at @Geaux247.

shocker to say the least, but the way he's been performing, not surprising.

deservedly so, too i'd think
if anything, i want him to come back to tell us about meeting cameron, what they talked about, etc.

meh, LeagueCity didn't tell us shite. All indications are that the Bama offer is non-commitable.
If anything, he was wrong in saying that LSU would not come watch him practice and was trying to shake him down for $400.

Wow, I don't like Harris at all. GUARANTEED this offer comes with camp requirements to commit

Naw, if we offer an in-state QB it is legit.
Harris already had the "come to camp" offer from LSU in hand. This one is real.

maybe they take Harris and Rudolph?

Ugh, that would be bad. I think we had to offer to keep good relations with parkview.. Rudolph stats are so much better too..

damnit
I'm not sure I'd call it dumb to take an extra QB, but I get that it;s tight numbers wise, that's why I'd really don't want 6 WR's and would be fine with 4.

Everyone says quantavious Leslie is our potential deep threat, we got Kevin spears and he can be a deep threat

If Cam Cameron is blown away by a QB, ill trust his judgement and buy into the kid.

Tigerfan4120 and et al that called me an idiot,
quote]OP, don't be such a fricking idiot, plz. Harris has to go to camp and impress in order to get a commitable offer from Bama, too. Or is the issue that Bama's camp apparently costs $375 and LSU's is $400? I really hope you're not connected to Harris in any way.[/quote]

"Recruiting has steadily picked up for four-star quarterback Brandon Harris (Bossier City, La./Parkway), and that trend continued Monday.
Harris received an offer from Alabama, the defending national champion -- more specifically, from UA coach Nick Saban himself.
“It’s a top-10 program,” Harris said. “They’re ranked No. 1 or No. 2 every year, and Coach Saban, his resume speaks for itself. I don’t think any of us question Coach Saban’s resume. He’s a great guy. I was just shell-shocked that I was even talking to him on the phone.”
The Crimson Tide have been selective with the quarterback position in this class. And Monday’s offer came with an unusual stipulation: Unlike the other signal-callers who have been offered, Harris doesn’t have to come to camp and throw in front of the coaches.
“The key thing [Saban] told me was that I don’t have to go to a camp to show him that I can throw a ball,” he said. “He wants to get me up there, meet my dad, who’s a great role model. I want him to meet my grandma and everybody else who are big influences on me on a day-to-day basis.
“If I wanted to commit right now, I can. I think he’s got a different opinion on me.”
I am most positive that I said this from the start and it is why I defended Brandon's decision not to camp at LSU if he didn't want to. I'm not one to show anyone up because it's not how I tick but this should be a valuable lesson to think before you talk negatively about someone and attempt to discredit them.
Good day.

Can you shed some light on his academic situation?
Staff on BOL says he doesn't have to throw to commit, but he does have to show a great deal of improvement in the classroom to do so.

if true, isn't that just another way to say the same thing. he can't commit TODAY. you don't HAVE to throw to commit but come to camp and compete anyway. school is out in a few weeks. he would have to show classroom progress in sept. forward. they will have a qb before then.

Brandon will be fine in his academics. He needs a little work and I want to keep that private because it's personal, but I wouldn't worry about him qualifying. Being graduated by January is the only issue.
