does anyone know if CAM if higher on the kid east coast that LSU wants or if LES and krag wanted this guy and cam has to roll with it.

Kragthorpe has zero input on who we will recruit at the QB position.

I understand what you're saying. The question is would they take his commitment now. That's the real question.

If you are expecting LSU to offer him without evaluating him in the best way they can, it's your expectations that are out of whack, not the LSU coaches.

The link is the text Brandon sent me at 12:12 lol. I'm one of his coaches. My problem with all of this is everyone assumes he owes LSU something and has to go down to camp and compete for a scholly. He is sitting here with offers coming in from every major school in the country and not one of them has asked him to come to camp before they offer
I'm sorry, but every other major school is not LSU. Evidently he thinks he's too good to camp at LSU. FWIW if anyone owes anyone anything it would be Harris. LSU doesn't owe him shite. They will be the ones paying for his school and they're the ones calling the shots. Consider going to camp an interview if you will. Is it really too much to ask?

So, tell us what your thoughts on him are.

Does he really want an LSU offer?

Obviously you're around him a lot. What's your opinion on his play?

I really dont see the big deal in camping at a school very close by to you if you want an offer from them. LSU has handed out close to 15 offers in the state for 2014 kids at this point. Those are guys they feel not only comfortable with evaluating enough to believe they have the talent to play at LSU, but also would take a commitment from right now. We aren't in the business of screwing over local kids by offering them early, having them trying to commit, only to find out it's not committable until they show us more first.

By this point if you are a LA kid without an offer, and you like LSU, then go to camp and try an earn one. It's as simple as that. Dont act entitled to an LSU offer because Alabama, Texas, Florida, etc... have offered.

David Cornwell is a take 10/10 for them over Harris guaranteed. Yep, they wouldn't take Harris right now.

Would he rather get a faux offer and if he camps and doesnt show what they need to see, get that offer rescinded?

safetyman, I understand your position. but, consider that LSU is being more open and honest with kid by telling him he has to compete at camp. SOME other schools are giving out phantom offers and being disingenuous. it appears that you prefer the latter approach.

This. I dont understand why some people dont realize LSU cant be this way with in-state prospects. These are places we recruit every year. We cant have a stain on our record that we offered a kid and it wasn't real because "we wanted to see more first"...because it would be brought up every time we tried to re-recruit that area. Florida, Alabama, Texas, Texas A&M, etc...doesn't matter for them what they do here in LA. The yare just trying to get their foot in the door and if they screw over a kid, so what? It's far from home and their main recruiting areas are unaffected.

Harris could try and commit to Bama today to find out it's not a committable offer, talk bad about them, but Bama could care less, because in the long run it doesnt affect them really at all. As much as they do recruit LA because of Saban, it doesn't affect their bread and butter zones of AL, FL and GA.

Mason Rudolph and Deshone Kizer are higher on LSU's board and I expect one of the two to be the guy LSU takes which most likey will be this summer.

If Harris wants to come to LSU he needs to stop listening to Noel Ellis Sr. logic and come to camp and compete for an offer.

I think Mason Rudolph will commit to LSU in a month or so and this topic wont even matter.

That's exactly what I was saying.

There are only 15 guys in the state of Louisiana who have offers from LSU. How many players are in high school playing football. Out of those 15 most if not all of them have been to LSU camps and participated in them camps.

I'm not sure why you are still looking for an answer to this. This question has been answered already.

Im not Cam Cameron but I think Rudolph is the #1 QB on Cams board that we have a shot with. I know the staff likes the kid from Florida thats committed to Clemson but of the uncommitted QBs that LSU have contacted it seems everything has been OK'd through Miles and Cam for Rudolph to be the QB in this class if he chooses to do so.
