The LA kids need to board the train before it leaves the station. Missing out on learning from a real NFL offensive coordinator right here at your own in-state school would be a big mistake in my opinion.

Cam Cameron is about to make history in the SEC.

New Jersey always produces gems due to the fact that it is such a heavily populated area. You can get kids who may be from NY but go to school in Jersey because of better schools with better programs.

They also tend to be tough city kids who aren't afraid to come down south and compete with the best. Plus it's a pretty small area geographically, so it's a good idea to just maintain a presence there, where you can pluck a great prospect without committing too many resources. This new nation-wide recruiting philosophy is fantastic.

Blacknall's commitment will have zero effect on Quinn, Noil and Dupre. They are ALL takes at any stage in the game. Each brings a completely different skill set to the table, and they are all among the very best in the nation at what they do. It's really quite phenomenal that these guys all hail from the same state and in the same year. Our coaches are extremely fortunate to be in position to close out a truly special class.

I want the board's opinion. which was the best group of wr from la. in one year. d. williams, landry, beckham or noil, dupree, quinn. I take the former.

definitely the latter bc dupre, quinn, and noil will all play college ball. We don't know with any certainty that Daquille ever will. Can't count hypotheticals in a "best group" argument.

This is a great question. I'm going with the latter, incoming group(if everything stays on track).

I believe that the production will be better with this group.

The talent level IMO is very similar when you throw Dhaquille into the mix but I'd give the 2014 group the edge there as well.

Let's try this out:

Dhaquille vs. Dupre- very similar athletic ability and measurable, but Dupre has a better attitude and may be more coachable. Slight advantage Williams.

Beckham vs. Quinn- similar size and ability, Quinn may be slightly faster and probably with better hands. Advantage Quinn.

Jarvis vs. Speedy- both playmakers, but speedy has more gamebreaking ability with that outstanding speed. Even.

These comparisons may be a tad bit optimistic, but that's the whole point right? I give Williams the slight advantage because he is just that good right now. However, I believe Malachi will be a better overall receiving threat than Williams by the time he is in year three. His leaping ability on that 6"3 frame is impossible to defend if the ball is placed where it needs to be.

But Williams is special and Les should do whatever he needs to do get him in this class: LINK

Good post.

I also go with Quinn, Dupre and Noil though I feel the other 3 are the more talented group. Williams may never see a college campus and Beckham has been a disapointment as a wr. Landry is #1 of all the guys for me. Can't teach his hands and innate ability to get open even with only fairly average size and speed.

As for Blacknall, I posted in a thread earlier this week that I'd take him before any of this years instate group at WR. He's the peffect combination of everything you look for in a wr. Doesn't mean I want him more or any of the others less just that I think he's the guy I'd take first based on his skill combination

Also agree with the ezrules about Blacknall not effecting any of the big 3 instate. Those 3 have spots regardless. Blacknall only effects Williams and possibly Upchurch. More likely a fringe guy at another position. Like a 3rd RB, 4th OL, one of the DL spots or maybe an extra DB. We're gonna take 5 wrs as long as everything goes as it should. I think that's a good thing. Our wr group gets awfully shallow when Beckham, Landry and Leslie leave town. Diarse and Dural are the only ones I trust. Love Avery Johnson's potential but have no faith that he'll ever put it together.

If Williams meets all of the coaches' conditions and makes it to campus in January, I believe Upchurch may be on the outside in 2014. Coach Henry really loves him but I don't see us taking more than 5 wr in this class.

If that happens, you can imagine what that wr core will look like in 2014 with Williams and possibly Leslie as the X and Y, Quinn, Noil, Dural and Diarse as the inside guys, and Dupre, Blacknall and Spears all working their way into the mix somewhere. That is a frightening collection of talent all around.

Why is nobody playing with the possibility of Upchurch to running back? He did play there and played good. Look at Joseph Randle from Okie St who just got drafted. About the same size and weight and lined up at WR a lot.

RBs
Fournette
Magee
Racean/Williams/Palelei
Brazil
Upchurch

WR
Dural/Blacknell
Dupre/AJ
Quinn/Diarse/Upchurch
slot: Noil/Brazil

I won't add williams unless he qualifies.

How does any top QB not want to come to LSU and throw to these guys! One of the most talented groups of in state WR's that I can recall.
