I understand with ole miss recruiting success, there is reason for optimism. Lately they have become so unbearable, they think every recruit will end up theirs.

holy crap. when was the last time we landed a consensus top 50 linebacker? I cant even recall a top 100 one.

also, how is that even possible?

ETA: jesus, just watched some of his highlights on hudl. dudes a fricking train. on a bunch of those plays, it doesnt even look like he's actually shedding blocks or making tackles. it just looks like an opposing player was running towards him and then for some reason was suddenly flying through the air in the opposite direction.

And on one of them, he lined up at MLB almost ten yards off the LOS, and still stopped the rb in the hole. like...what?

anyone know the level of competition in plainfield's district/classification or whatever?

When coaches talk about playing angry, this is what they mean.

Appreciate the link. This dude is an absolute BEAST. After watching his film I don't see no reason why CG shouldn't get a bump in Rivals next update. For a LB to attack downhill like he does I would say his film is very comparable to Rueben Foster in 2013. Some people might think I'm getting ahead of myself comparing him to RF but I really didn't see anything on film from what RF did compared to what CG is doing right now. When CG hits somebody they're definitely going backwards.

This would be icing on the cake for LSU to get Garrett. We need to get a stud backer or two in this class for a change. If we are weak it is at backer in my opinion. We will miss Minter badly this year and I hope I'm wrong...

No way we are weak at linebacker this year, we bring back Barrow off a really good season (104 tackles, 7.5 for loss), then add in Tahj Jones, Kwon, Debo, Lamar Louis, Welter, Phillips...

Linebacker could very well be the best unit on the team next year.

I actually think it will be our strongest unit in D. Which is rare considering we never have an elite LB core.

Garret is 1 of my favorite players in the nation and I feel that we do end up getting him. He's relationship and connection with Pocic is huge and the fact that Chavis is the best LB coach in the nation doesn't hurt either.

Linebackers always seem to play a big role in Chavis defense. From K-Shep to Minter and even Ryan Baker. It'd be huge to get a top talent at LB

On a few of those plays the OL guys trying to block him looked like they were hit by an automobile.

Yep.

Kwon and Debo are freaks of nature. I think Kwon will be an AA at LSU.

Love this kids attitude. Just listened to his Rivals interview he brought up a lot of good points while answering those questions.

247 story just post with headline that Garrett may be an "LSU lock." I know its insider but does anyone have any cliffs from what they said in it?

i may spread some light

Eta..

quote:

LSU blew Garrett away during his visit for the Tigers spring game on April 20. This summer, he plans to get back down to Baton Rouge with his parents so they can check things out. If they like things as much as Garrett does, I could see him giving a silent pledge. It wouldn’t surprise me if Garrett ended the process publically during an official visit to the Tigers campus.

quote:

With that being said, Garrett still wants to visit USC, whether that’s with an unofficial this summer or official in the fall or both. He also wants to visit Florida and get back down to Alabama and Ole Miss. Perhaps those programs could make a run at the leader LSU, but right now there is a clear No. 1.

Garrett did tell 247Sports that communication with his first love Ohio State hasn’t been as regular and as reported in the past, we expect Garrett to most likely sign with an SEC program.
