Recently I've started to sample various beers in an attempt to find some I like.....

So far I like:
Southern Pecan
Abita Purple Haze
Redds Apple Ale
Saint Arnold Brown
Shipyard Hazlenut Porter
Samuel Adams Cream Stout

I don't like:
Stone Leviathian
Skull Splitter
Rogue Mocha Porter

I have Santo and St. Ambrosia for this evening...

What are some other options for me? I go to beer rarer before I buy anything and check rating/flavor content/etc

See I did that and many are IPA which I'm not even sure I will like since ones I found I like are dark beers. I asked in a thread other day and no one answered really.

what do you mean by "dark" beers? That can range from an amber or brown ale to a black IPA to an imperial stout and anything in between

He probably means thicker creamier beers.
i .e Guinness or cream stouts.

Well they are dark to me, I just started trying different beers last month. As I've never drank beer (because I can't stand taste of traditional beer) so I've had mostly dark ales/porters

Go through the Rogue lineup and the Sam Adams line up. That'll be a pretty good introduction to craft beers...

Rogue kinda scares me since I didn't like the Mocha Porter which was highly rated

NOLA brown ale is one I really like. Also may want to try NOLA Irish Channel Stout if you find where it is served. I haven't tried Tin Roof's coffee porter, but it could be a good introduction to coffee porters. Check into some doppelbocks and dunkelweizen for some darker, heavier German styles.

I enjoy Rogue's Dead Guy Ale.

It is pricey, but worth a drink.

So do you prefer stouts, ales, or fruit beers? Random list right here.

I would start with the local offerings. NOLA and Parish are making some great stuff.

Go to the Calandro's on Perkins. They will have everything you could possibly want that's available in Baton Rouge.

Try some of the Ommegang lineup of Belgian style ales.

Rouge dead guy ale and hazelnut brown nectar are both very very easy to drink.
