Don't disagree at all.

Episodes I-III were bad, but if you just take plot holes and bad acting and don't worry about them, there is some joy that can be had.

Abrams just used a cheat code and rebooted (or alternate universe'd) the entire series.

Yeah, that's it. It actually hits the nail on the head with what the spirit of the "original" Star Trek series was.
