I really fricking love this game. Ready to play with some peeps. FF was always one of those games I wish was co-op.
Gatta cut back on the quest. From my understanding I need to save some so I can use that exp for my job.

Well, I'd just go through the main quest and starter area quests for your main job. Use other areas + hunting log to level up other classes.

To add to this be sure to save your Leve-quests for leveling up crafting. It will save you a ton of gil and time. For 1-10 just buy the materials and sell items, he total cost is minimal. You'll actually make a good bit of $$ from 10-20 by using leve's. At level 20 is when you will need to start farming materials since the market is so high atm.
I'm lvl 20 in armor, cloth, and leather and it may have taken 5-6 hours total play time combined. 3 days in real time due to server lockouts...

That was hilarious and infuriating at the same time. I had no clue whey were having so much trouble with that leve because you were behind us. I finally picked up that you were laughing and realized what had happened.

I haven't been doing leves for crafting and I need to start. Not sure why I haven't.

I've only died once so far, but it was at the end of the battle when there was a combination of lag and a bomb critical hitting on its self-destruct skill. Did 500 damage at copperbell mines instance. Outside of that, I've been a good tank.

I've never played an FF game, am I getting in over my head if I purchase this one? I have played mmo's in the past (wow, guildwars2, and rift).
I tried reading up on this game the other night and I got kinda turned off to all the crazy lingo used. Is there any pvp?

They are currently working on PvP I believe.
It's really just different names to things the other games you listed have in them. Events, quests, etc.

It's just different names for things that exist in MMOs, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Got the game yesterday and still can't get on the server all of my friends are on. Is it a losing battle to try to wait for that server to light up? Or eventually it will let me choose it?

yes, it has been announced that servers are being upgraded next week.. for now, just play on another server until things are resolved. I believe Carbuncle has a massive group of NA refugees, you should be safe on it.

like I said, maybe next week - but soon you will also be able to transfer, and with this server being full thing.. I'm 99.9999999% sure they will allow free server transfers.

I'm currently a Marauder (Warrior) and I will also be leveling Thaumaturge (Black Mage) and Summoner

I'm rolling Gladiator with the goal of being Paladin. Have a pocket group with friends, so we've been rolling through it (one is Pug, one is conjurer, and other is archer).

Ima running Thaumaturge right now. Will probably go dark Mage. Just didn't want to join up with the crew and everyone be the same thing.

Tanks are few and far between if you're up to Gladiator/Paladin. They tweeked THM a bit so I'm not 100% on how it plays.
