Kenny Vaccaro vs. Jarvis Jones

From what I've seen and read since the Saints selected Kenny Vaccaro, the people who don't agree with the pick have stated that Jarvis Jones would have been the better pick. Before the Saints selected Vaccaro, I was hoping they would have selected Jarvis Jones because of his pass-rushing and play-making ability. However, when they selected Kenny Vaccaro, I wasn't disappointed. Like Jones, Vaccaro is also a defensive play-maker who will instantly upgrade this defense.

I think one of the main reasons the Saints passed on Jarvis Jones is because of the medical issues surrounding him. The diagnosis of spinal stenosis with Jones is a big risk, as his career could end at any point due to that. I think that's the reason he fell to the Steelers, he would have gone much sooner if not for that. Also, the Saints most likely believed they could find a potential star at pass rusher later in the draft, which they may have done with Rufus Johnson and/or Chase Thomas (UDFA).

So looking back, while Jarvis Jones is a hell of a player with a lot of upside, in the back of the fans' and coaches' minds, that risk of a career-ending injury due to his spinal stenosis would always be there. So picking Vaccaro may have been the safer pick due to health reasons, as well as the Saints' secondary needing a boost, perhaps more so than the pass rushing department. What do you guys think?
