Looking for suggestions on open face spinning reels that have a "trigger" mechanism that releases the bale, which allows for one handed operation.

Is a POS! Will break in short term. I never bought one that lasted more then 2-3 outing. Ended up removing that crap.

i have a shimano ultra light with a trigger that has given me several trouble-free years. they are fine for fresh water but DONT'T take them into salt water. shimano's salt water series of reels don't even have a trigger option.

Put the trigger option down and walk away quickly! Agree with other posters - had a couple of good outings with them but they always broke or stuck soon after using them and i just ended up flipping the bail anyway.

What everyone here has said already.
Its not that difficult. My 8 year old can cast one just fine without a trigger.

They always break. I had a couple pfleuger ones that broke pretty quick. Then it just turns into a regular spinning reel
