The shitter is full. What is a fair price to get somebody to come pump it out?

Any you fellers ever dealt with a full septic tank? Mine is backing up. Which, as you can imagine, sucks donkey balls. This is the first place I have ever had with a septic tank. Called a plumber and he suggested getting somebody to come pump it out before I did anything else. So I called a dude with a pooper truck and he quoted me $400 to pump it out. Seems kinda high. What say you? Also, any other septic tank advise/lessons learned/recs would be appreciated.. tia

I had to have one done last year. Seems like it was about $350. I'm in central louisiana, not sure where you are located at.
