Any of you golfers play a 7 wood over a 3 hybrid?

I have a 6 handicap and haven't had a 7 wood in my bag in years. But I was thinking about switching from an Adams A2 3 hybrid (20 degree) to a Ping G20 7 wood (21 degree).

Anybody play a 7 wood?

I played a 7 wood for years then moved to a hybrid wood.

I appreciate the input, but I'm not looking for another hybrid. I like the one I have, the Adams A2 with the 85 gram Aldilla NV shaft.

I'm just wondering about the wisdom/benefit of switching to a 7 wood instead of a hybrid.

I also have a #4 Adams A2 hybrid and a #1 Nickent hybrid (14 degree) instead of a 5 wood and I plan on keeping both of those in my bag.

Hell, I use a 19* hybrid as an in-between for a 5 wood and 3 iron.

I think you are over thinking it.

Seems as though you would be better off sticking with that hybrid

I've actually thought about switching from a 3 wood to the 15* Adams Super XTD hybrid.

I used to have a 7 wood in my bag. Was very easy to hit and served me a lot of purpose when hitting out of the rough.

What made you decide to stop using it?

We need distances for accurate advisement. BRGetthenet will be here shortly to judge whether your distances are true or a big fat lie.

Nope. Play the Cobra Baffler hybrid 19 degree. Great club.

It may say "4" on the club, but 20.5 degrees of loft is a 3 hybrid.

Manufacturer's do that to make it seem like their clubs hit the ball longer than other clubs when in fact all they are doing is lowering the loft on each club.

I have a 20* Cleveland Launcher that I still keep in the bag. Probably the club that I am most confident with.

Mine plays spot on to my 4 iron distance and Ive shorten the shaft quite a bit to make it play more like an Iron. A cleveland staff guy got it for me off the van and the actual loft is 21.1.

That'll do it.
