I hadn't looked too deeply into it. My info came from ESPN radio and they'd mentioned it basically guarantees they stay in Arizona.

Where are the Canadians from? I can't see another Canadian city getting a team before Seattle. Hamilton, maybe?

Quebec City, I thought, was in some discussions but I haven't followed this case much at all.

eta: QC mentioned above

I thought Hamilton was Toronto part two. Quebec?

I'm tired of cities getting second chances. They couldn't hang with the Nordiques, stop taking shitty American teams and giving it another go, NHL.

I'm looking at you, Winnipeg.

Seattle needs a team.

There is a new NHL ready arena being built in North Toronto, Winnipeg is sold out for the next 5 years minimum-every game lulz

Yeah, but they lost their team to Phoenix, then put their new team into a 10 year old arena that the team will of course want upgraded in ten years. The voters will balk at the effort, because they've only had hockey for 10 years and they still have ten years to pay on the MTS center, then the Jets will move to Atlanta or some other shitty place.

It's one of the weaknesses of the NHL.

Seattle just got screwed by the NBA keeping the Kings in Sacramento, I bet this Phoenix thing probably doesn't go down as quickly if Seattle got the NBA team and the already funded arena plan in SEA had the ability to go through. Seattle just won't build without the NBA.

It's a true story. The Jets left because Winnipeg is small and can't really support a team. Same thing with the Nordiques. Now we're moving teams back into Winnipeg and Quebec? I'm sure the next labor stoppage will be because Winnipeg and Quebec will bitch about not being able to cope with increasing player salaries.

It's a vicious cycle, Fat Bastard said it best.

My money is on QC, fits quite nicely with Gary's narrative of we didn't wanna move these teams in the first place...Quebecor is stupid rich and Gary has been up there 3 times in the last 5 years...Besides Winnipeg is the only team where the fans chanted "Gary Gary!" without "sucks" at the end...I think Gary likes playing the hero...

The fact that Winnipeg and Quebec are the only cities that don't boo Bettman proves they're not NHL cities.

come on man...Winny's waiting list is like 10 years for season tix, tons of merch sales, QC's got a passionate fanbase with excellent corporate sponsors...natural hated rival in MTL...plus no bother with the Leafs and Sabres...
