Is this boiling pot still good?

I scoured this pot with some steel wool yesterday to get the rust out of the bottom and noticed some the wear was uneven. Is this pot still ok? Will the finish flake off into whatever I'm cooking? This pot has been sitting out for awhile.

This, but you could always fill it up with soap and water and let it sit for a while.

Boil some water in it and see what comes off. It doesn't look like its in that bad shape, though

In the places where it looks bare....is it just the finish that's coming off?

As others have said, looks fine. Uncaoted metal pots will not flake off.

Cook in that sucker.

Looks to me likeit's just discolored from either rust or just from being used. My aluminum pots will sometimes discolor like that if I've boiled water for eggs. It's nothing to worry about
