Heading there this weekend and I would like to get some suggestions. Tia.

If it doesn't need to be fancy, Steamboat Bill's is solid fried seafood.

Meh, not necessarily fancy but not fast food either. Looking more for some good boiled shrimp, crawfish, and maybe some oysters. Trying to stay away from the fried stuff as much as possible.

You might think I'm crazy, but Honey B Ham on Prien Lake Rd. has some of the best boiled crawfish in town. Pretty sure they do shrimp as well.

I'll agree with this, don't remember if they do shrimp. Fried food it's pretty tough to beat Steamboat Bill's on the Lake. Mazen's is also very good for grilled or baked fish/seafood dishes.

The crawfish dinner at Pat's is legit. Get a bowl of bisque instead of a cup.

DO NOT! AND I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO honey b ham for seafood. That place is garbage.
Go to A-mazen Seafood on Prien Lake Rd. (The guy that owns Mazen's on college st also owns this place) Quality ingredients, simple preparation.
If you want a old school seafood experience with a nicer touch go to Pats of Hendersons. Kind of stuffy, and the food isn't as good as the people think it is.
If you want bare bones quality seafood go to Seafood Palace on Enterprise blvd.
The hidden gem in Lake Charles is Chastain's.

Care to elaborate? I've never had bad food from there period, seafood or not.

Was terrible the two times I went, but it was in the first few months it was open. I was expecting good things too since Mazen's is one of my favorite places in town. Have things improved since they first opened?

Both of these are good options. I'd go to Seafood Palace over Chastain's, but you'll get a good meal at either.

Glad someone backed me up there. His opinion of A-Mazen's is the first positive thing I've heard about the place.

Steamboat Bill's is good but pricey for what you get.
If you want steaks, go to Mazens or the Harlequin.
Seafood palace isn't too bad but stay away from the chicken fried steak; really bland. Their fried catfish is good though.
Stuff from Chastain's on Ryan isn't too bad.

I've heard all bad stuff about A-Mazen's as well.
We got oysters at the Harlequin. They were good.

My go to is Pujo Street Cafe. Their Oysters Pujo is really good. The Crabmeat Florentine is pretty solid.
Sha Sha's is good for the fried stuff/platters.

Sha Sha's has good boiled seafood, Chastains is turrible. As far as Mazen goes, I ordered snapper there once and I was pretty sure I was served black drum or who knows what. Crab Palace is good but a non local may not find the dive atmosphere too appealing. Steamboat Bills is decent fried
