@JacquesDoucet:

Eric Reid has cross country flight to SF in morning. Never heard from Saints. His agent knew they were taking Vaccaro at 15. #LSUROAR @WAFB

@JayGlazer:

"@saintsnhornets: @JayGlazer Any thoughts on Saints choice of Vaccaro over Jones?" >they had him MUCH higher rated

Apparetnly, Vaccaro was the guy that the Saints were targeting all along. I don't know if that makes me feel any better, but it was at least a well-informed decision.

I was hoping for a front 7 selection, but I like this pick alot. He's better than Reid. And he doesn't have a dissolving spine.

Good pick Loomis.

ETA: Oh and his name is not Roman fricking Harper

The first mock drafts a while back, had us taking Vaccaro. I laughed. Guess they were right, before they were wrong.

Right behind Ellis, Jenkins and PROB. Loomis knows D mfers.

I had S order:

1) Elam
2) Vaccaro
3) Reid

I think Reid is a great pick for how SF plays.

Who did you want Loomis to select?

Honestly I think Vaccaro is the best fit for the scheme. Elam's game is much more similar to Harper.

I think Jenkins is the odd man out. Vaccaro at FS and Harper at SS. Jenkins providing backup there and at CB.

If the NFLN shows one more KC highlight of trade-bait OT Branden Albert throwing Martez Wilson around like a rag-doll on that 90 yard TD run, I'm gonna be sick the Saints are standing pat at the "front 7" position of WLB.

I ain't hatin on Jordan, but batting .250 ain't that great... ya know.

Stability on D is probably the #1 thing the Saints need... besides a better D.

He was playing as an undersized defensive end against one of the best LTs in the league.

Biggest reason for the 3-4 switch was getting our talented undersized DEs turned into talented correct sized OLBs.

Batting 1.000 with our most recent defensive 1st rounder. Time will tell if this is a new trend.

Jenkins was the guy we targeted all along in his draft.

I couldn't disagree more. Elam is 1000x better in coverage, has ball skills, and is a little more intense in run support. I like Harper in run support, but Elam throws himself around. I like his intensity.

Jordan will be a terror this year on defense. He was a good pick.
