I'm almost tempted to DVR the draft tonight to see the inevitable meltdown by their fans.

Wow even the Jet fans were laughing at how bad those picks were.

The extension was a bigger blunder than the trade & pick.

It's a yearly thing because the draft is literally 80% drunk/inept Jets fans(yes, there's a difference ), but they haven't been bad recently.

Gholston is pretty much the only 1st devoid of all value recently in the last 10 years. Even Dewayne Robertson and his degenerative joints contributed.

I wanted Dan Marino there, but it's obvious the Jets know something we don't know

That's awesome.

The best part of that video is at about 54 seconds in when the Buccaneers fan with the mullet is absolutely ecstatic that the Jets fan feel a fraction of the shame of being a Bucs fan.

wow, I've never heard of this. So they didn't turn their card in in time and what...they just lost the pick? there was no selection for them?

In 2003, the Jags jumped in a picked Byron Leftwich and then the Panthers picked Jordan Gross before the Vikings got their pick of Kevin Williams in to the NFL.

It wouldn't look too bad but something akin to that happened a year earlier too.

In 2002, the Cowboys (who were picking 6th) were working out a trade with the Chiefs so the Chiefs could grab Ryan Sims (who the Vikings wanted). The clock expired but the Vikings weren't able to get their card in before the trade went through and the Chiefs grabbed Sims. The Vikings ended up with Bryant McKinnie.

They were trying to field a trade, IIRC, which kept them from turning their card into the league on time.

As a result, the next two teams rushed their cards in ASAP to get the guys they wanted.

Jacksonville got QB Byron Leftwich and Carolina got OT Jordan Gross before Minny got DT Kevin Williams.

Yeah, they just get to pick 1 spot later. The second time may have even been by design IIRC. They figured they could get their guy a pick later and pay him less.
