Baloo, how concerned are you with dreaded Dr. Andrews visit?

Never a good sign

Define "worried". As an Orioles pitching prospect, Dylan Bundy is doomed. That's not worry, that's a certainty.

Might as well get it out of the way now.

Was curious since I asked you earlier this offseason how concerned you were the O's shut him down for a period of time. I want to actually see Bundy succeed because I've seen a few of his minor league games and he dominated.

Even though it's precautionary any trip to see doc Andrews is scary. That said, he is an O's first rounder, as Baloo said, that means he's fricked.
Seriously, in the past 10 years we've signed 9 first rounders. Two, Markakis and Machado have gone on to do something.
For every Bundy we have a Billy Rowell or Brandon Snyder (who absolutely rocked my arse in high school).

How is Gausman doing for his farm club?

meh. 4.71 ERA so far in AA.
His lack of breaking ball is gonna really hold him back and determine how good he will be.

Word is he's working on a slider/cutter, but his FB/ Change are dominant. I'd say he gets the call up in September and competes for a job next Spring. There are a few guys ahead of him in the pecking order for a rotation call up if someone goes down or they pull the plug on Arrieta. Steve Johnson and Zach Britton are the first two that come to mind. Even TJ McFarland or Brian Matusz would get moved from the pen to rotation (this year at least) before Gausman

I'm not worried about Gausman's ERA at all. His peripherals are outstanding. He has a 21:1 strikeout to walk ratio and a tremendous groundball rate. And his lack of a breaking ball is overblown. A changeup is much harder to develop and control than a breaking ball and Gausman has an excellent changeup and his fastball is absolutely electric. There are some people in the Orioles who like Gausman more than Bundy. They certainly think he's further along than Bundy in his development. He's going to be a great pitcher and will almost certainly be up by the end of the year. Orioles fans should be very excited about him.

Absolutely. But with his lack of a breaking ball he will be VERY hittable. If he can develop a cutter, he will be VERY dangerous as long as he can get a show me curve over for a strike every now and then.
