He modified the trigger on his rifle so it would shoot fully automatic.

Had to laugh this past Saturday morning. My 9 year old set his alarm to watch The Rifleman reruns that come on AMC. It starts at 5am.

Needless to say I was already up watching it.

I was watching the episode with Ms. Bertie the bounty hunter and he said he had modified the trigger to shoot automatically, they cut to a close up of the trigger guard and it had a screw in it that looked like it would fire the weapon as he cycled the action.

My authentic Rifleman cap gun was designed for rapid fire.

The whole gay thing just seems like a goofy hollywood myth.

Thanks for the links, Crawdaddy! I bet there isn't but a handful or less of us on the OB that actually saw or remember these type commercials. That was a different time, different universe than today. I actually feel sorry for the kids today because they will never know this age of innocence that I, and a few others here, enjoyed and remember. Any TV network that aired a similar commercial today would lose their FCC license. And that reality ticks me off.
