Opinions on the Glock 30

Ive never shot one and was wondering how the recoil on it is. I would probably carry this weapon if not to snappy. I own a glock 23. How comparable is it to the 23?

The 30 was the first gun I purchased after I made 21 a number of years ago. The recoil is very soft due to having the dual spring guide rod. I've carried it before, but it is kinda thick. You might want to look into the new 30S.

Shot one twice and loved it, not as snappy as a full size .40 despite being smaller. Only complaint is my pinky slides off the grip a little, but its still easy to shoot.

I have a G30, a G21 and a couple of G23's. (I don't shoot them much since I started carrying a G19 a few years ago.)
I think you'll find the G30 generally has less muzzle flip than the G23 (depending of course on what load you're shooting). I think you'll find the standard pressure (non +p) 230 grain .45 ammo to be very manageable in the G30.
All of the foregoing assumes you are using good shooting techniques. I see students using a wide (wild ?) variety of grips and stances that they've learned from TV, from friends or on their own. Using a solid technique, such as the old, somewhat outdated Weaver -- or even better, the "Modern Isosceles" grip and stance, makes all the difference in the world when it comes to control.
