Warning: Reading this may give away the ending ruining the entire series for people who have not watched yet. So yeah, SPOILERS.
So what is the significance of the broken tail light on the red car? How does that trigger Linda to assume Rosie's aunt was somehow involved. I guess I completely missed that part.

It identified the car as being at the scene of the crime. It placed her there and when asked about it later, she got nervous, started crying and confessed, She was scared and stressed out over it. She was caught. Guilty as an accessory or witness.

Yes, but what placed the car at the crime scene? Did someone report seeing a car with a broken taillight at the scene? I get the rest.

I finished season 2 last night.
I thought in an earlier episode, the guy's son said his dad was dropped off by a car with a broken tailight(I can't remember if he said it was a cab or not), but everyone seemed to assume cab and they wanted to search for every taxi in Seattle that had a broken tail light.
Seeing the broken tail light on the aunt's car must have been too big a coincidence for Linden to pass up, especially since Aunt was dating the guy.

Almost as fricked up as dragging all that shite out for 2 seasons and having entire episodes and following a bunch of people around that didn't seem to have shite to do with anything.
It's fricked up that she wanted to be with that guy so bad she was willing to kill whoever was in the trunk. Turned out to be her niece.
