Working in a plant (although less volatile than the Fertilizer Plant in TX but still full of machinery that can maim or kill anyone not respecting it), I'm reminded every day of Safety. It's the first thing we go over when we have our daily meetings. Safety Prevention can become a mundane task but we ALL must be diligent in ensuring that we look out for not only ourselves, but everyone around us. This morning I am praying for all my Manufacturing Plant Brothers & Sisters and the entirety of the small town of West, TX after the tragedy that struck last night. Please take a moment today to send along your thoughts and prayers also.

Yep. I'm afraid the volunteer firefighters may have gotten the worst of this tragedy though.

We have to do so many JSAs it is annoying as hell but it saves out arse and if it prevents one injury it's done it's job.

I agree if my plant explodes it would level 5-10 city blocks. I have been told it would be like a nuke going off not to mention all the machinery. Our plant is old so old parts are rednecked with newer parts. Scary as hell.

Also praying for those involved in the fire at Exxon in Beaumont, Texas. Guys doing normal S/D work and 3 are burned badly 2 more have broke legs due to jumping from an elevated platform to escape the flames.

Yep, plant safety has to be paramount. At the end of the day, these are people's lives that are at risk. There's some very dangerous stuff in our pipes if not properly handled...gotta respect it.
