Coach Byron Scott said he thought Irving was injured on the game’s final play and a team spokesman announced in the locker room just prior to Irving meeting with reporters that he had suffered a bruised right heel. Irving acted surprised upon hearing that.

“That’s what I have? Oh, when was someone going to tell me that?” Irving said. “I’m hurt again? Damn. How long am I going to be out, 4 to 6 weeks?”

Cavs tanking.

Kyrie got "injured" last year, too, enough for them to increase their odds a bit in the draft. I was so glad when they didn't win a lottery pick.

Like improving and growing up a little more. He has great potential, but there wasn't any real production and def was not efficient as people thought he could be. Barely shot 40% and was a 29% from 3.

And that doesn't matter for shite when you're projected in the top 3.

This makes me think my statement was taken as judgmental, when I could not care less which way he goes; I honestly do not think the draft affects team's fortunes that much (in terms of titles) and the data supports this. Therefore, I don't get into it that much.

I'm just curious as to why he would go the lesser traveled road. Does he have some injury that will affect his position? Is he in love? Is he just going his own way, following his heart? I'd just like to know.

I'm a Jennings fan, for instance, because of how he's handled his route through the business. It makes me wary of having him here, but I'm a fan.

Yea, by going back to college he will be a better basketball player in a year from now than he would be a year from now with an NBA club..

Haha come on man, that'll stunt his growth somewhat

I haven't read the rest of the thread (I know I should have), but don't you think an extra year of college ball could help a lot of players?

The issue, for me, is not that college won't help. It will.

But will another option, the NBA, help even more?

At the start of the 2014-2015 season, which is more likely to produce a better Marcus Smart: a year of college or a year of the NBA?

If he doesn't fit well with the team that gets him, maybe it's college. It's not clean-cut, that's for sure.

For him, I'm guessing the NBA, so I'm wondering what force is keeping him in college that can oppose the allure of money now and better competition on a larger stage.

Well he just went from a top 3 pick to fighting for top 6. Probably lost about $1million if projections hold firm haha

And not very athletic

I completely agree with the no skilled part but chill on not athletic. Sure he may not be an unbelievable leaper but when you factor in body control, strength, quick feet, and great hands, smart is a great athlete.
