The wax makes cleaning the scum line off easy, otherwise the boat looks like crap bc you can't get the scum line off.
ETA: wax it twice each time you wax. Doing it twice will ensure you coat everything and don't miss some spots.
And if you use that oxalis acid hull cleaner to clean the scum off, you better wax it right after. If not the Fiberglass will start oxidizing. The acid pretty much removes everything coating it.
