Power Pole(s)

Who has one.....how do you like it? Wish you had another?
I assume two is better than one to keep your boat from swinging on the single axis, but maybe it's not that big of a deal. Two power poles are pricey tho.

I'm interested in knowing this too. We will be crossing that bridge when we get our new bay boat later this year

Worth every penny IMO. Dropping the manual anchor is a bitch and doesn't catch all the time. The pole is effortless and you obviously don't have to fight the anchor rope and all that BS. Have a black one on our 24' and I've used it a heck of a lot.

How deep of water can you use it in?

I was thinking about adding one soon to my boat.

Me too...which model is better?

There are a few places I can't use it, but it's great for shallow inshore that we do in the fall/winter and great on the island beaches in the summer.

Do you find the one sufficient, or do you wish it had two? I fished with my buddy this past weekend and he has two and it was pretty nice getting in a spot and positioning the boat and not having to worry about the boat moving/swinging.

You'll find that the CCA treated ones will burn nasty material if caught on fire. But the creosote ones should cause no appreciable hazard. Hope this helps.

Get the 10' model. I have a talon and hate it.

Yeah but isn't that shite not used anymore?

I just prefer the ol Cajun anchor and rope, but that's just me.

1 is plenty because the wind or current will turn you to where you can cast with the wind. 2 would be awesome, but unnecessary overkill IMO. Also, if I want to turn the boat, I can just turn the trolling motor right or left and give it a little juice every once in a while.

I absolutely love mine. The only problem is that you need two. I refuse to pay $4000 for anchors. It was hard enough to swallow $2000. In the end I am glad I did get one at least. I use a cajun marsh anchor on the front to stop the swinging when I can do so.
