readers's digest version.

crazy fool accosted me and lil choupique while we were fishing off amite river - had permission and were not trespassing - threatened us.... we quit fishing - lil choupique was shook up.. so back at vehicle he drives up..

more accosting more threats..... then I addressed his threats and accosting.....

only thing that let him walk away was an over ridding thought that maybe he wasn't alone.. and concern for my son if I were "invovled" with an adversary.

I later found out he was most likely alone.. I also walked away - because I thought my son was shook up.. I later found out he was only scared while we were on the water-he knew we had a supreme advantage once we were back at vehicle.

I would have been fully within my legal rights at any point to respond with violence....

I talked to a sheriff's deputy about the incident.. they knew who I was talking about...

after he accosted us at car and then followed us a few hundred yards down the road - I stopped.... we never saw him again.

to this day, my son is surprised I let him walk away.

I told him a fishing trip isn't worth hurting or killing someone over - unless he threatens us again - then all bets are off. The smart thing was to defuse the situation and walk away...much like a rattle snake usually slithers away rather than biting.....

Choupique..I bet you have your pistol with you now when fishing.I used to leave mine in the truck but now its on my side.I fish ponds and have it mainly for snakes but its comoforting to know its there.I am glad things didnt escalate and you were able to walk away for you and your sons sake.

pistol was with us while on the water, haven't gone fishing without a pistol ever since that guy in the 80s was whacking people fishing near manchac.

he was out of pistol range while we were on the water... I have killed deer at 40 yards with the pistol i had that day too.... I don't think that fool had any earthly idea how lucky he was I chose to walk away.

I had made a decision that if he pointed a weapon anywhere near us while on the water - I had an executable defensive plan ready to execute. told lil choupique if he points a gun..

we went fishing there last week.... .

based off what people have told me.. .that might not be the correct avenue... not gonna get into the particulars cuz several people I know - know the families involved..
