A SG that can't create his own offense. Sounds like a perfect fit for the Pelicans.

Definitely not 6'5"

Maybe 6'3". When they played Michigan there was not a huge height difference between him and Burke

Maybe we can replace Gordon with Oladipo and ensure that our chances for Andrew Wiggins are great.

95% of our offense is pick and roll. Thats the opposite of creating your own offense

We also run probably the worst pick and rolls in the NBA. We should play a game tonight and count how many times the big man makes no contact with the defender.

They aren't that bad. Vasquez manages to get guys shots that wouldn't be able to score without him.

We're awful at guarding pick and rolls though

We're probably awful at a lot of things with our record and play.

Well except for the two point guards(and Bennett) that's listed as a red flag for everyone in our range.

sometimes its a slip, sometimes its by design. Davis is a very good on the pnr.

Though I do not miss Smiht picking up at least one illegal screen foul every game

It says he has trouble creating own offense then goes on to show him beating his guy to basket and says he is extremely tough to keep out of the paint and a great finisher at rim in half court. Imo a better fit for this team than eg . His 3pt pctg will translate over. He played the whole year overshadowed by an offensive pf/c(zeller) a la the case with AD... great attitude, set up zeller consistently. He is a beast in fast break, hustles. If EG had his attitude and took responsibility being the max player, cornerstone whatever, I could see a lot of promise pairing him with trey burke but that also has a lot of physical limitations. Dipo will be a better sg than gordon in 4 years. No sg has been drafted first overall, takes time for them to learn to create their offense. This kid plus a piece for trading gordon would make an excellent core with AD. Really hope this happens.

I think his inability to create offense is overstated.

...His dribbling is much improved and improving. He has a quick first step and is quite good at attacking the basket, imo.

He played on a very talented team with the preseason #1 pick in front of him. He wasn't on the NBA lottery radar before this season. If he was "the guy" on his team like Smart, I don't think anyone would be talking about his weakness at creating offense.

I like everything about Oladipo. I think he will be an example of a guy that's a better NBA player than college player....great defense, great athleticism, quickly improving solid offense, intelligence, work ethic, and swagger. He had a great tournament.

This team desperately needs more backcourt/SF talent and perimeter defense. He's a perfect fit.

He's a spitting image of AFA, except in a SG form. No offensive game except for finishes around the rim. Athletic but no real finesse. Not going to create his own shot.

This isn't the kind of guy I want to waste another lottery pick on. Give me a true difference maker.

For reference, anyone can be made to look good in a highlight video.

Aminu's college scouting video

Kys. Completely different styles of play. That video was showing dipo's strengths and weaknesses, not a highlightreel. Your video shows what aminu does now, finish at rim in open Nd grab some boArds. ... smh

Their "styles" are different because they play different positions. AFA obviously doesn't play with the ball in his hands like Oladipo.

My point is, neither has a refined game. Yeah, it's easy to blow past/lock down college players. AFA dominated college players in the post because of his length and athleticism. Oladipo used his athleticism to get by in college.

Fast forward to the NBA, and AFA has no offensive game to fall back on. Now everyone is more athletic and longer than he is. No more relying on the stuff he got by on in college. He can't score, he can't defend.

You think Oladipo is going to survive on layups in the NBA? IF he can even get by his defender, he has 7' shot blockers waiting in the paint. He has no midrange or long range game to fall back on. Defensively, he's going to guard 2s? Those guys are going to eat his lunch. We won't even mention what will happen to him if he has to guard the 3s of the NBA.

Just think back the guys hyped last year in the lottery who weren't even heard from this year. That's Oladipo this year IMO.
