Won the fourth-annual Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in November as the youngest player in the field, a groundbreaking achievement that makes him the youngest competitor in Masters history. He will be 14 years, 5 months and 17 days old when play begins. The previous youngest competitor was Matteo Manassero in 2010, who was 16 and qualified by winning the 2009 British Amateur Championship. Guan shot 15-under for the championship highlighted by opening rounds of 66 and 64 to win the title by a shot over Pan Cheng-tsung, Asias No. 2 ranked amateur. Two-time defending champion Hideki Matsuyama, Asias top-ranked amateur, was fourth. Guan's other achievements include being the youngest player to win on the China Amateur Futures Tour (2010, 11-years-old) the China Amateur Tour (2011, 12-years-old) and the China Amateur Open (2011, 13-years-old). Won the 2011 Junior World Golf Championship with a record score of 18-under.

What were you doing at that age? Other than fapping 2x daily?

That has to be the most awesome feeling in the world for that kid*. I'm 33, and I don't know how I'd be able to handle the pressure of The Masters, and this kid is gonna have to do it at 14.

*other than the jacking it twice a day, obviously.

Maybe his age will help him relax a bit. Being young allows for that, and maybe the idea of knowing you're overmatched helps realx you as well once you start playing.

However, if he even remotely got competitive for 5 minutes out there I expect him to collapse with pressure, but good luck to the kid.

Yeah I was just reading an article on him and he hits his drives around 250. Augusta is entirely too long for that

ETA: Props to him though

Tiger's dominating win back in the late 90s made them lengthen it a good bit.
