I have a calcuttta and a revo. I would vote Revo. They even have an inshore model now that is designed for saltwater use.

This is all I fish with. The light weight makes it great.

Can't go wrong with that choice. I've got some with no markings left on them that I use to wade fish and they have held up remarkably well. I like my Revo's, but I don't beat them up nearly as bad as i do my old silver Calcuttas.

Some of ya'll are total ballas with these $300 reels.

What would be a good one that could be used for bass and also light inshore saltwater tackle?

Bought my curado new in box off eBay for like $120. Citica's are even cheaper.

DAIWA Lexa 100, $139 and twice the reel for the money. Brass gears and no back lashes, very smooth loong casting reel. This reel will double the distance a calcyutta will cast for sure. BTW, There are a lot of reels better than Shimano now days , cheek with any reel repair shop , they just have gone to el cheapo guts in them.
