Had no sharp object to kill it with except my pocket knife. And I'm too much of a bitch to grab it

I'd bring you a shovel but I know it wouldn't help

Those suckers are almost as good as a good cat for killing mice and rats and vermin.

That's not a snake. It's an eel obviously.

I'll never understand the widespread irrational fear of snakes.

This. I don't even kill the poisonous ones unless they're in my yard. I've lost 2 dogs to cottonmouths and have 2 survivors will terrible facial scars.

I won't ever kill a good snake. I will go out if my way to kill cotton mouths or water snakes ever though the water snakes are non venomous.

Here's a six footer I caught last year.

Yeah...I made the worst mistake of my life...I killed a black racer one year...actually killed him eating a garter snake...Worst ever mistake. I had more mice in my house that winter than you can count. I'll never make that mistake again. I'll stick to cotton mouths and timber rattlers.

This.

Poisonous snakebite deaths in the United States are incredibly rare.
You have a much greater risk of dying from the vermin (through disease and insect-borne disease) that the snakes prey on.

Rat snake. Good one to have around. They'll decimate any mouse population.
