I still have no idea how you pull Negan off on basic cable
Bruce Campbell acting like Ash in The Army of Darkness

They didn't really even pull the governor off.
The showrunner at the time complete fricked up a lot of the story line.
Scott Gimple is much better at sticking close to the comic storyline...I have hope he won't frick up Negan

Was the Rick fight with Pete in line with the comic storyline? I remember Michonne knocking him out but I just thought he killed Pete.

I don't think he killed Pete in the original battle...I do remember that Pete and Rick went through the window during the battle (which was replicated in the show)
ETA: Pete does slit his wife's throat before he attempts to kill Rick, but I think there were two separate battles

Thanks for the refresher. I feel so lost with this storyline.

yeah I feel you...at the beginning of this season I had to go back and reread some of the comics...
The "No Way Out" arc of the comic gets really lost, especially with the "All out War" comic arc playing such a prominent role over the last year.
I remmeber when I was reading this part of the comics, I kind of lost interest...until Carl got his eye shot out in the finale

Same here. That's kind of all I remember from this arc. You think they'll leave us on a cliffhanger with the herd entering Alexandria and Carl getting shot in the head?
The show thread guys would be so happy until next season rolls around and he's still alive.

I absolutely think that is why they extended the finale...
it would be a perfect cliffhanger...
but that's just me nerding out

is there a website where I could start reading the comic series? And if so, would it be easy enough for me to pick it up around the same time line where the show is currently at?

She was but she was shot and killed in Lori's arms during the Governor's siege on the prison.

Plus, the herd breaking in finishes off Rick's redemption arc after the whole fistfight.

Jeez.. Apparently she was hit by a howitzer.
I thought I remembered something about the baby being killed after the siege but I couldn't remember. I don't think we'll ever see the baby killed off of the TV show though.

i'm glad my memory isn't the only fuzzy one. i thought rick killed pete. also when michonne knocked rick out i was trying to remember if that happened in the books bc it seemed familiar.
i think pound for pound gimple's done the best job as show runner including darabont. i said it.

:kige:
No doubt these past two seasons have been the best two seasons. Only season one comes close to meeting them and I'm convinced it would have been far worse had it been more than 6 episodes.

I was just reading the show thread and had an interesting thought.
Do you folks think Morgan could be the show's "Jesus" character? The way they've been teasing his following the group this season, and the point where they've brought the story arc, makes it almost feel like the only logical option at this point.
The only other way they could bring Morgan back in is to just have him show up at Alexandria, but I feel like that would be anticlimactic after the buildup they've given him this season.

I don't see him doing all those badass roundhouse kicks, but I have to believe Morgan will play a bigger part in the show than in the comics. If I remember correctly, if they follow the comics, he is gonna die as soon as he gets to Alexandria. Which would be such a waste.
