What do y'all use for fish storage? I've been just using stringers, but I get tired of hauling around a stringer full of fish. Looking at the fish bags, was wondering if anyone had any recs.

Been using mine for almost 3 years now. Just about time to replace it but it works really well. Had 5 keeper reds and 4 trout in it one day.

don't know if the front opening is large enough to fit a medium sized hard cooler, thus my asking about a fish bag

Fair enough. With all the million different size ice chests now, I bet one would fit. Measure at lunch and I'll find one that'll fit.

ETA: found the specs on the native website, the front area is 18"x19" - I'll find something that'll work

This is the way to go. I use a 25 qt igloo and attached two rod holders to one side of it. It sits behind my seat and I have room for a tackle tray on each side of it, with more room behind it for any other gear I need for extended trips. Ice chest will last much longer than any bag and keeps ice better.

Drilled holes, mounted with SS hardware (fish mostly saltwater), hit with a little silicon to make sure it was sealed. The ice chest sits behind me lengthwise. I mounted the holders to the side that I put towards the stern to keep the rods out the way while I am turning around placing fish. Been using it for a few years now.

You have any pics of that set up? That sounds perfect, as I mostly use my crate for my rod holders and extra storage, but I could put the crate up front if I could mount rod holders on an ice chest.

I have a 36pack AO cooler that fits in the rear of my Ultimate. Not sure what type of Native you have, but when I have the bow and stern skirts on, I usually put the cooler in front of the front thwart.

Pricey, but it works well. I have CI bags, but they are not watertight, and will leak in the kayak or the car. . . not a good thing in a kayak that doesn't self bail!
