Places to Find Landscape Ideas

It looks like landscaping is in my near future. I'm not into hiring anyone to do it and will do most of it myself.
The front flower beds are a disaster and the mrs now wants to add some beds in the backyard. The house is 3 years old and I merely sodded the back and threw up a privacy fence when we moved in 3 years ago.
I have no clue what it is I want other than low maintenance shrubs/ flowers that will add some value to the joint. We will move within the next year and looking to add some resale value.
Where can I find ideas for the low maintenance landscaping?

Plant sunflowers in all the beds. Then you can have a nice dove hunt for the OBGT

Use spray paint to outline the beds, dig out the grass you might want to then run a tiller, put on a border to hold in new dirt, get a couple of truck loads of new soil and fill it in. I there is a Home Depot around go see if they have some Mexicans looking for work. You will kill yourself alone if you are not used to manual labor...

I have some plants called dwarf ixora......they are nice looking plants and are resilient as hell.
I don't water them or anything and they stay green all year and bloom all spring. Pretty much everything else I've planted has died except those.

Mud Board on the fence bottom.
It will be a pain to put it in, but you will not lose all the dirt out the back of the fence first hard rain.

You didn't appreciate my suggestion?

Soaker hose and a $29.99 battery powered timer from lowes.
It will save the plants all summer long, set it 12/24/48 hrs to go on for however long you want.
It keeps my veggie garden alive when my wife forgets to water it (usually she forgets).

Glad someone appreciated it.

I have one of those mist systems on a timer in my front flower bed and everything I have planted in there besides the trees has died. The dwarf ixora gets full sunlight most of the day and the only water they get other than rain is an occasional spray with the water hose if im washing the cars or something. They are some bad sumbitches.

I've got a buddy with a landscape degree who just got back in town and is trying to get some shite going on. He has been doing insurance, but wants to primarily do the landscape biz now. Not saying anything about him, but he is a hard worker and knows some shite.
I can give you his number if you want
