I get what you're saying but I would not consider ec a replacement for IE, even with GW. its just too much of a steroid for the adc and would also depend on the actual adc being played.

It's not a replacement, but if your team is struggling vs zac, or any champ that regens lots of HP, pick up executioners calling to counter them or focus on ignite on them. Ignite also applies grevious wounds. The problem is people blow ignite to secure a kill rather than be beneficial to shutting down a champ that regens lots of hp for sustainability.
