Is cricket really more popular than Aussie Football in Australia?

Because cricket fricking sucks. This could influence my view of Australians negatively.

I doubt the amount of baseball states... baseball is obviously more popular in those certain areas, but it can't be more than football.

Yeah I'm having trouble believing this. Aussie football is huge.

Having lived in Alaska for about 5 years...I have to say...basketball is a bigger sport up there than hockey. All these maps always lump in cold weather places as all being in love with hockey.

Sure, Anchorage has a minor-league Hockey team but you go to the games and seats are empty.

From High School to the colleges it's basketball. Natives love basketball. Love basketball.
