The Best Player You Never Saw

For those who are subscribed to Sports Illustrated, the baseball preview came in the mail today with an amazing article on Brian Cole, an amazing minor leaguer in the late 1990s until his untimely death in 2001.
Here's an article about one of his past teammates that is in the SI article and has worked in baseball movies and is doing a documentary on him:

I know the legends of Greg "Toe" Nash as well, but do any of you know of any other stories like these? Always neat to read stories like these. It doesn't have to pertain to baseball either

Ed O'Bannon - tore ligaments in knee in HS all star game. Was the best HS player I've ever seen. 25 years ago the ACL was almost an athletic death sentence.
