What time can you start feeding a mogwai?

I think a good rule of thumb is to only feed them during hours with daylight.

Don't feed them at all. They're only fun for a few days anyway.

I also wondered if time zones have an effect. Say you travel with said mogwai from the west coast to the east coast, can you feed him at 2:59am on the east coast? SO MANY QUESTIONS!

yeah that never made sense.
What if me and Gizmo were riding from Illinois to New York going from the first movie to the next. In Ohio we stop for Taco Bell. If Gizom eats a bte after we cross the state line, does he shift.
Also since the other Mogwai were bad, and became bad gremlins, would gizmo be a good gremlin?
Because I would rather have a gremlin than a mogwai. Especially if I can get that talking chap from the second one.

Assuming these animals are magical or mystical in nature, I'd say anytime before dawn is off limits. Also, true midnight (halfway between dusk and dawn) may be they key, rather than just 12:00.

Gizmo was a good gremlin. I don't think he would have even eaten after midnight if you fed him then. It's when he accidentally got wet when the problems started.

Gizmo wasn't a gremlin, he's a mogwai. I will agree that his offspring mogwai were mischievous little bastards.

May have something to do with where the moon is too, but they just use time as an easier reference.

If they ever made a 3rd one, I bet that would be the plot. He would do bad things but the good in Gizmo would break through and he will save them at the last minute.
