G Garvin just did a road trip there recently so you might look at it on the Cooking Channel for ideas. Had one local joint that looked good...chef owned and operated place.

My coworker who goes there all the time recommended Salsa's and Tupelo Honey.

Both of these are good. Tupelo Honey is more of a breakfast/lunch spot. Corner Kitchen in the Biltmore Village (not on the estate property) is also good.

Hit up the beer places as well. Jack of the Wood, Thirsty Monk, Asheville Brewing.

One of my favorite towns in the country.

Tupelo honey is great. Asheville pizza, try the shiva beer. There's a crepe place downtown, I forget the name but was great

I liked Pack's Tavern for a nice casual place similar to Chimes.

Have only been to 3-4 places in Asheville, but this was easily the best.

Excellent choice - the local alumni group sometimes meets there to watch Tiger football during the season. Also - Hickory Tavern at Biltmore Park is excellent (advertise themselves as the Second Best Sports Bar in the US - per ESPN).

My local favorites - Tupelo Honey and Frankie Bones. Great local hamburger joint - French Fryz.
